Rift Wyrms are dragons adapted to both the frigid depths of the sea and the void that exists in the space between spaces. They have the ability to rip holes in the fabric of space that lead into and out of the void, and can manipulate the size and location of these rifts with additional effort. Their bodies give off an unsettling chill, while their mouths tend to glow from the mana they’ve consumed. Between their appearance and their method of travel, Rift Wyrms have a reputation as eldritch creatures that do not belong in this world. They tend to have a mischievous streak facilitated by their abilities. This ranges by individual from harmless japery to active malevolence, and many people and dragons are wary of them. Despite their reputation as tricksters, these wyrms are curious and may choose to help others on a whim just as often as they decide to harm.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Rifting in the Wind seems to find apples mildly intoxicating. When he doesn't get any he ties himself in pretzels, but some suspect he's faking the withdrawal symptom. He moved to Nworset to be near apple growers. Locals expect him to respect the laws and pay for apples, so he has set up a small curio shop to sell things he has acquired from other realities across the interspacial voids his kind call home. Like many of his kind he has a poor understanding of space—one of many things that don't exist in the void. His solution is to have a magical "focus" that he can always return to in his shop so he can always return. The focus was stolen once, so when Rifting in the Wind tried to come back to it, he ended up in the thief's lair instead. He opened a rift to an alternate reality, where he got a police force of anthropomorphic tapir to help him out. Rifting in the Wind couldn't figure out how to get them back to their own universe on his own, but Sosostris the clairvoyant helped them.
