Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It’s learned to use its new wings quickly and you now have a hard time keeping it on the ground.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Having witnessed the death of Minuscule Guerrier at the hands of the Datamonster and being struck with a maturation-terminating spell himself, Survivor of the Disaster feared facing the mortality of those he devotes his feelings to, and as a result he distanced himself from everyone else and sealed his heart off.

Despite Minuscule's revival through divine intervention, as well as multiple proposals from female members of the Frozen Gang, Survivor of the Disaster remains unchanged throughout all these years since the incident, maintaining only a professional relationship with the rest of the gang and carrying out tasks assigned to him with minimum conversation. While some still fruitlessly try to coax him out of this self-imposed isolation, most have accepted it as his preferred way of life and ceased bothering him for it.
