Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Satherian is a very nice and friendly dragon. He is mischievous but also one to easily be manipulated or scared. He likes spending hours in front of the cave reading. He learned how to read from his human friend Flitz. His favorite books are mostly those who tell the stories of strong dragons and warriors who fight epic battles. But, Satherian is unfortunately a sceardy-cat and doesn't have the guts to take up any other dragons...the main reason for this behavior is the fact that he has been hunted by humans many times because of his beautiful, precious scales. Luckily one of his dragon friends or Flitz is always there to save him. Only once he actually got forced to use his own strength. One day when his bad luck turned a nice sunny day in a bloody hunt he got hooked up in a corner where he couldn't escape! Flitz and Zaku heard his growls and run to save him but they both lost in the fight against the man with the black dragon who chased him. He gave the battle of his life and won.
