Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Luster was a vain hatchling, calling himself Lusrousa Shine, King of Dragons. Though his scales were mediocre for a Lumina, the area in which he lived was bereft of the species, his egg having been left there by mistake.

As such, the dragons around him worshipped him as their king, despite his small size. Except one: a vengeful Magi, once usurped from that very throne Luster claimed, lured him into the nearby woods one day. Once there, the Magi used illusions to trick Luster into bathing in cursed waters, claiming it would make him even more magnificent.

Luster cried out as he realised the Magi's deception, his glistening scales becoming dull and grimy. In horror, he tore them all off, only for the new growths to be worse; with no other option, he fled the area for the Enigma Mountains, the Magi's cackling haunting him to this day...
