Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blood Bane was the first of the Male Vampires to enter the Dragoon clan, he immediately established dominance over the others when he grew older. He is a violent and destructive sort who enjoys watching others woes. As leader of the Vampires in the Dragoon clan, Blood Bane is constantly out hunting for new victims to add to the army. Though at times he'll get to hungry and kill his victim before it can be turned into another Vampire. The other dragons of the clan are always on alert and watching their eggs and hatchlings warily, keeping an eye out for this sly character. Even so Blood Bane often manages to sneak in a meal daily. He can often be seen with the Dominant Female Vampire: Goddess of Death. The two enjoy hunting together, increasing their chance of success, but other then that Blood Bane is very distant from his kind.
