Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Strike is not very sociable, only ever spending his time with Glaedr and Cloudsky, who are his two closest friends. All three were together as hatchlings, even though Glaedr was an egg throughout most of Strike and Cloudsky's time as hatchlings. All three are haughty and proud, considering themselves above all dragons in the clan, except for their four rulers. However, they do not pause before voicing their displeasure that the young Princess Lightshine, who is only a hatchling, was placed above them in importance.
