Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cantiren (in ancient draconic, his name means "crashing") is the fastest dragon (on land) in his clan.  He races with his mate, Atornu, every day, and constantly tries to prove that running is faster than flying.  Even though Cantiren has wings, he dislikes flying, and will only do it to quickly avoid obstacles.  However, he will quite often simply bang into a rock if he can't change direction quickly enough.

     Cantiren, despite the fact that his mate is one of the strongest supporters of the winged dragons, has decided to be pro-mint.  He strongly believes that land is just as important as sky, and knows that the ground which he loves to run on will be lost if the winged dragons prevail.
