Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Valcigni (In ancient dragonic, her name means 'volcano flame') is the queen of her clan.  Because her mate, Nokiran, is extremely timid, Valcigni is in charge of most of the ruling of the clan.  Every day, she flies over the clan's borders, and settles the problems of her arguing clanmates.  If a rival clan attacks, Valcigni is always the first to defend her clan, and the last to leave the battle.  Many believe that Valcigni is the main reason the clan stays strong, but she consequently has little time to spend in the palace with her family.

     Valcigni is the leader of the mint defense against the winged dragons.  She organizes all battle strategies, and will certainly be at the front of the fight when it comes.  Unfortunately, Valcigni felt a bit betrayed when her daughter, Rutignir, and her granddaughter, Haratira, decided to fight on the other side.  Valcigni uses this as all the more reason to fight valiantly, and emerge victorious over those who would betray family.
