Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn’t move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shifting Stone is the quietest of all the frozen hatchlings of his clan, mostly because, he feels he is the odd one out, because he can't move during the day, and by the time he can, all the hatchlings are asleep. During the day, in his solid form, he sits before the cave entrance, guarding it. If anyone who seems hostile attempts to approach it, he lets out a deep growl, warning the intruder, and the other dragons, and he growls at most who approach, except his caretaker Arya10, who he deeply loves and trusts.

At night, though, is another story, as soon as the night settles, he takes for the sky in search of his other friends. He is gone all night, but returns just in time to resume his guarding duties every morning.
