Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Rhodallya YoungLove (after the gemstone: Rhodolite Garnet) joined the clan cave as its 99th member, a few days before the human holiday of love and romance. Along with her clan sister Rhodolythia, she looks after the general health and well being of the clans romantic interests, especially where young love is concerned. Some consider her to be rather meddlesome in the ways of the heart, although The Clan Mother often refers to her as the dragon version of Cupid. She often guides the younglings, both male and female alike, and councils them about matters of the heart, and love, and whenever she can, directs them towards another whose heart beckons. Above all else, she seems to have an uncanny ability to detect blossoming feelings, and manages to step in at just the right moment to encourage its growth and development. She does not discriminate, and her intervention has been known to spread far beyond the clan cave and its dragons, love seeming to sprout from nothingness all around her.
