Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shimmerfoil is a rather... interesting dragon, to say the least. Ever since he was hatched and received the name "Shimmerfoil," at least a few dragons have been wondering why. It didn't fit the other dragons of the clan, with their two-word titles and, for at least a few, their habit of stressing words never caught on. He was just Shimmerfoil. No fancy title, no word-stressing, nothing in particular making him stand out.

His wings did seem to reflect light like tinfoil, though. They practically glowed, even in the faintest light, throwing off faint light onto the cave walls, forming strange patterns that even the Violet Rogue can't decipher.

Shimmerfoil was always strange, but he never regarded that in a bad way. He enjoyed his status as an oddity quite a bit.
