Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shurom loves to be in the company of friends and is known for his kind nature and keeping a level head, even when it's a difficult task at hand.

Some wonder why he is one of the sons of the night; he isn't like other vampires at all. The clan calls him "unwilling vampire who denies his destiny," and they're right. He hates to bite innocent eggs; however, that's not enough to stop him from doing it. Even though he's a fully grown vampire, he's as playful as he was when he was a hatchling. He tends to play all nights long with the vampire hatchlings instead of going out and hunting with the rest of the clan.

He's a story lover too, Sheo always told him stories at bedtime that amazed Shurom and his fellows. They all dreamed to become just like the dragons Sheo told them about. Though this is impossible for Shurom as he is a member of the clan.

Shurom is a social lad, his worst fear is to be alone.
