Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It doesn’t move much, and appears to be covered in stone.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. However, the wings look too heavy to fly and are filled with beautiful crystal.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Onyx was abducted by a gem collector who put the little hatchling on display. People would pay the evil man to see this little beautiful miracle. Meanwhile, the dragon's parents were looking for their child all over the land. But Geode dragons are slow, so it took them many days before they came to the town where Onyx was on display. They easily broke through the town gates and rescued their son. Whatever the humans tried, they had no weapons that could harm the dragons, so they made their way back to the caves, together with little Onyx. Unfortunately, malnutrition during his captivity caused Onyx not to grow up. So, Onyx is still a little, beautiful miracle, and always will be.
