Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sy is a timid and shy dragon. She goes out of her way to avoid unnecessary contact with others, glances away when looked at, and made a cozy nest to sleep in far away from the other dragons. She does not, possibly cannot, speak through telepathy or sounds, and has a habit of hiding her head under her wing when startled. Several dragons have tried to bring her out of her shell, as she is very pretty and a skilled hunter, but only a couple have succeeded—the rest have failed miserably.
