Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Moonstone dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow in with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moon’s power.
This shy female is in the habit of seeking out a certain type of herb, which is well-known for giving whoever eats it deep and pleasant dreams. While she has little use for the plant herself, she collects it to share with those who can use it best, whether it serves as a calming medicine for the sick or simply cheers up someone's sad thoughts. However, there's one small downside to this; she's become so connected with the herb that some have begun to ascribe its properties to her herself, and she often finds herself letting out startled yelps as some scamp plucks out a feather or two from her wings to use for its "magical" properties.
