The egg faded away completely; in its place there’s a cute baby dragon. It doesn’t seem to have much substance, though.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

On Hallow's Eve, several dragons were found murdered at dawn's first light. Among them was a newborn hatchling, too young to even have its wings. It had been abandoned as an egg and left to the clan to raise, and therefore there was no mother to mourn its untimely passing.

Days later, a wispy specter arose from the makeshift grave that the hatchling had been laid to rest in. It does not speak, and seems to flicker in and out of sight, as if it's struggling to cling to existence. This melancholy wraith seems drawn to eggs, its insubstantial body often found curled around them as if hoping that their caring mother might notice it alongside its brood.
